Swimwear S/S17 Trends

Summer 17 has fully commenced and even though the weather has been a bit bipolar this year we have still been lucky enough to have some serious heat waves with that in mind, Swimwear shopping is on the top of our lists. Being June, Holiday season is here (FINALLY) and for those lucky people who have got some holiday trips booked up I thought it would be a good idea to share with you the key Swimwear S/S17 Trends this season before you decide on what Swimwear styles are a "must have"for your vacay and before you splash out on your holiday wardrobe.
I will also share with you the best Swimwear styles & designer brands in stores today!
Swimsuits/One-pieces are huge this season with styles such as the One-shoulder, Lace-up front, Cut-out and Bandeau incorporated in all vibrant colours, materials and prints. Designers have combined their brands signature touch with these Swimsuit trend styles and you can literally find them everywhere!

The Swimwear industry is continuously growing and innovating each year and the designs, styles, cuts, silhouettes, colours, materials and prints are more diverse than ever that we are now spoilt with choice!
  • The Side-Knot One Piece: This swimsuit style is one of the designers favourites this season. From using D-rings, lace or bow detailing to connect the front & back. This one piece is seductive and stylish but probably not the best swimsuit to catch a tan in to avoid bad tan lines but a great piece to brunch in by the sea on holiday. The one-piece in general is a classic swimwear item which is flattering for all shapes and sizes and great for those that are a bit body conscious and prefer not to wear a Bikini.
Solid & Striped £150
Emma Pake £280

ZARA £25.99
  • The Bardot Bikini Top: The Bardot top has been a huge S/S trend since last year with the exaggeration on the sleeves and the off the shoulder style. This classic trend has now hit the swimwear designs with ruffled shoulder detailing on bikini tops, off the shoulder straps and full shoulder caps. The Bardot bikini top brings a feminine element to swimwear and has a "chic" and elegant style to it.
Lisa Marie Fernandez £365
Tory Burch £205

Boohoo £18
Lisa Marie Fernandez £380
  • The Rainbow Stripe Swimsuit: This colourful vibrant swimsuit is a favourite this season with its vertical stripes in various bright colours. It is visually slimming and flattering for all body types and it has a low scoop back giving you that 80's Baywatch vibe.
Mara Hoffman £270
    Anne- Marie £150
  • The Minimalist Bralettes: This Bikini top trend is perfect for Women with smaller busts and it seems like every year the Bikini designs are getting smaller and smaller and more revealing. In a way this is good for those that love to tan and like to avoid tan lines. The Bralette looks fabulous with Brazilian cut bottoms or high-waisted bikini briefs for those that don't want to show off too much skin!I personally love the high-waisted bikini briefs contrasting with the small bikini bralette. The high-waisted brief gives off the retro 1950's vibe. It is also a very flattering Bikini brief to wear for those that aren't ready to show off their abs this Summer.
Stella McCartney £290
ZARA £15.99
    Marysia £241
    Mara Hoffman £245
    Mink Pink £22
    Mikoh Top £100
    Kiini £260
      • The One Shoulder Strap : Bringing back the 90's one shoulder strap into our wardrobes this style is edgy and incorporated in cut-out swimsuits to jazz up the basic generic swimsuit styles.
      Stella McCartney £155

      Karla Colletto £315
          Kinni £110
        ZARA £15.99
        Araks £270

        • The Cut-out Swimsuit: This style swimsuit isn't the best for tanning but it is a huge trend this Summer and all brands have put their own design touch into this trend with different prints, fabrics and cuts. My favourite style is the High-waisted cut- out one-piece with a bow knot tie front which has a 1950s retro vibe to it and is super feminine.
        Jaded London £40
        Hunza G £150
        Mara Hoffman £255
          Norma Kamali
        Agent Provocateur £225
        ZARA £25.99
        Matthew Williamson £250
        • The Lace-up Front Swimsuit: This trend swimsuit is the most popular style trend for one-pieces this season and you can literally find this style swimsuit at all  high street & luxury designer brand stores and outlets. The Lace-up plunging low neckline is seductive but a classic piece that reveals just the right amount of skin and is flattering for all body types.
        Marysia £290
        Mara Hoffman £245
        ZARA £25.99

        Jonathan Simkhai £270
        Stella McCartney £155

        • The Bandeau: The strapless Bikini top (also known as the bandeau) and the strapless swimsuit is my favourite swimwear item to wear when I am on holiday and for tanning in because lets face it strap tan lines are not cute! This trend is also perfect for women with smaller busts like myself.
