#OOTD: The Off the Shoulder Button Dress

#OOTD: The Off the Shoulder Button Dress

Do you ever get an invitation where it states the dress-code is smart/casual? I do and it always confuses me as they are total opposites, but this seems to be an ongoing thing. Word of advice if it also confuses you, turn up more formal than casual because the odds are no one shows up to a somewhat formal event in casual attire. I think generally the host of the event/party doesn't want to stress their guests out prior on finding an outfit or even purchasing something new for the occasion resulting in the smart/casual dress-code statement. I however, have found a dress that defines this description of the "smart/casual" look. The off the shoulder button dress as seen in my chosen #OOTD. This is the more contemporary version of the original Bardot design with its iconic off the shoulder feminine style. The Bardot design has been on trend for the past few Spring/Summers and it continues to be just as popular than its initial launch onto the fashion scene. Its popularity is due to the fact that it suits literally any body type and it is also super flattering to any female silhouette. If you are having a bloated day this is the go to dress, trust me! It is also a dress that can be worn during the day with strappy espadrilles or in the evening with sky-high wedges. I went for the Gucci white wedges as they coordinate with the white buttons and geometric patterns on my Navy off the shoulder dress from ZARA. I also added gold jewellery and white 90's style sunglasses to finish the look. I would have also worn a straw bag with this outfit if I had time to purchase it as it is another key accessories trend this S/S18 season.
