Polka Dot Vibes

Can you believe Summer 18 is now officially OVER and it is Autumn! I can honestly say that I am more than happy to store away the bikinis and swimwear items from my closet as I was nowhere near "Bikini Ready" this year and I was rocking that "Winter Bod", however as you know I am not an Autumn/Winter person at all. I am completely dreading the cold weather which is soon coming. I can already feel the temperatures drop and my usual chilled home wear attire has gone from shorts, tank tops and flip flops to tracksuit bottoms, thick hoodies and of course my fluffy Primark bed socks, (A necessity for Winter).
My chosen outfit of the day was dedicated to making the most out of the sunny weather last weekend, clinging onto Summer by dressing like it's July, that caption sums it up exactly.
Before I store away all of my Summer clothes to make room for all of my Autumn items which by the way takes up double the space in my wardrobe, I thought I would do one last shoot in Summer wear.
My #OOTD look included my polka dot dress, black & white (of course) from Topshop worn with black suede, kitten heel mules a Anna Field design from Zalando. I absolutely loved mules this Summer it was definitely one of my favourite footwear styles, and these ones from Anna Field are super comfy and they go with basically anything!
I wore a cropped, dark blue denim jacket from New Look just incase it got a bit chilly, as we are in September. I love this jacket as the dark blue denim and cut reminds me of the 90's style denim jackets that I used to wear when I was seven years old during the Spice Girls Era.
I then accessorised the look with statement, chandelier, black earrings from Topshop, a black netted handbag, mermaid style, again from Topshop and black sunglasses with cat eye frames from Zara.
To finish the look I wore red lipstick, Russian Red from MAC, I have a thing about wearing a coloured lipstick with monochrome colours. Sometimes you need to add a bit of colour to make that outfit POP!

The Best Street Style Looks From London Fashion Week S/S19

The BEST Street Style Looks From...

London Fashion Week S/S19

London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 19 shows hit the streets of London on the 14th-18th September where Victoria Beckham celebrated her brands 10 year Anniversary.
BTW if you haven't seen the Vogue video, "A Decade Of Elegance", of her basically showcasing her personal style looks from the past decade, you have to! It is hilarious as she mimics her DIVA Spice Girl character,"Posh Spice", which is comedy gold. After watching that video I was literally saying "Spice up your life", for days (no joke, ask my boyfriend).
Just because I want everyone to watch this video,  I have added it here, (You're welcome!).

Moving on swiftly, key events that took place at London Fashion Week S/S19 included Ricarrdo Tisci who made his Burberry debut as well as Alexa Chung making hers.
As the British designers and fashion icons celebrated their achievements and showcased their S/S19 collections on the runway, the Fashionistas attending the shows were dressed to impress.
I may be bias as I am British and lived in London for a few years and see it as my second home but what I love about London is that you can be as creative as possible in how you dress and not be judged. You can literally wear the most flamboyant outfit and not one Londoner would judge you or look at you for more than 2 seconds, why? because they are busy and far too polite, knowing that it's rude to stare. This way of life reflects on the British Fashionistas. Their personal style has no boundaries when it comes to their outfits.
Traditionally they are edgy, eccentric, daring and pull anything off with their cool "AF" demeanour, which you can't buy!
They say you are born with style and you've either got it or don't and these ladies definitely do.

Here are my favourite BEST DRESSED guests Street Style Looks from London Fashion Week S/S19.

#OOTD Bike Shorts Slay!

Bike Shorts Slay!

This chosen "Outfit of the day" was inspired by my recent blog post on a key trend this Summer 18, the Bike Shorts also known as the cycling shorts. This trend has been a late starter this Summer but it is now an ultimate favourite, worn by all Fashion Bloggers/Influencers as well as Celebrities. This was also a key street style trend worn by guests at the recent Fashion Weeks.
Not only are the bike shorts extremely comfortable, they are also flattering because they are all high waisted and stretchy and on top of that, they go with everything!

FASHION BLOGGER ADVICE: I would recommend wearing the bike shorts with a loose fitted top as the shorts are super tight, as expected with lycra.

In my #OOTD I chose to wear my black bike shorts, bought from ASOS which FYI are kind of see-through with an oversized band t-shirt which is long enough to cover my derriere, resolving the see-through problem.
My footwear of choice were my new white chunky trainers the Fila Disruptor which I LOVE!Worn with high Nike white ankle socks giving it that 90s vibe. I then accessorised the overall look with a grey/white leopard print bumbag from Topshop worn over the shoulder and with some black cat-eye styled sunglasses from ZARA. I also mixed it up in some photos with a black, leather looking beret from ZARA.

With bike shorts you don't have to go for the casual, street style look, you can also dress up this trend. Inspired and seen on Fashion Bloggers/Influencers, they wore this trend with a loose fitted, oversized shirt or with a loose fitted T-shirt with a statement blazer and stiletto heels. Mixing casual with formal!Perfect for evenings out!

The Top 10 Autumn/Winter 18 TRENDS

The Top 10 Autumn/Winter 2018 TRENDS

I am reluctant to write this blog post because it's topic indicates that it is the END OF  SUMMER!(I am crying inside). As you might have noticed from previous posts and this one, I am not the biggest fan of Winter, I have never been. I would much rather lie on a desolate beach with sun shining, tanning my skin then be stuck outdoors in the freezing cold with temperamental rain showers.
Anyway, as I was saying, as Summer comes to its end and Autumn starts to appear, lets discuss the key Autumn/ Winter 18 trends for this coming season.
What items are a necessity to your wardrobes? Lets #Throwback to the A/W18 Fashion Week shows from earlier this year to get a clearer picture of the key trends.
Here are the top key 10 trends you need to know:
1. ANIMAL PRINT: From Leopard, Tiger, Zebra, Snakeskin, stripes and spotted prints. This is THE KEY TREND this season, clash the prints together, wear the same print all over, anything goes as long as your wearing these bold animal prints. Seen at Dolce & Gabbana, Max Mara, Balenciaga, Victoria Beckham, Bottega Venetta and Tom Ford to name a few.

2. LAYER IT UP: This trend relates to our behavioural traits during the Winter season to when it is minus degrees outside, quite naturally we over-layer all items of clothing to keep warm. For this trend you can wear multiple jackets on top of each other, include scarfs, headwear, shirts with blazers or knitwear, just layer it on thick. Seen at Calvin Klein, Tods and Balenciaga.

3. STATEMENT HEADWEAR: From elaborate printed headscarves worn in various ways, to French berets, to Snow beanies, to last years popular trend of the 90s flat cap, statement headwear was seen all over the runway this season but over the top and dramatised. Seen at Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior.

4. COWBOY BOOTS: As boots are our favourite Winter footwear why not Western it up and make it a little more interesting with the cowboy boot, this is the must-have boot this Winter. From heeled cowboy boots at Paco Rabanne to luxurious snakeskin cowboy boots at Saint Laurent. I recommend to purchase cowboy boots, if you are thinking of buying a pair from Vintage stores they always have plenty and they look better more rustic than brand new.

5. CHECKS: The Check print is always a reoccurring Autumn/Winter favourite! From American inspired plaid seen at Calvin Klein to a more classic tartan check print seen at Erdem. Versace used a more 90s, "Clueless" inspired approach to the check print in their A/W collection.

6. LEATHER:
Leather is always on trend during the Winter season and this year is no exception as it was the most dominant of all fabrics seen on the runway. Leather is a timeless material and oozes Rockstar vibes. Seen on the runway in winter trench coats, dresses, skirts and trousers not only in black but also in various colours. Seen at Hermes, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Loewe and Isabel Marant.

7. BIG EARRINGS: Another key accessory trend this season is statement jewellery especially earrings. From oversized chandelier earrings, frosted hoops and more, the bigger and more dramatic the better!

8. CAPES: This super chic, luxurious outerwear was seen at the London and Paris shows, from opera-ready jacquard at Erdem to leather at Alberta Ferretti, to Dior's shearling, to mixing it with another key trend this season Dolce & Gabbana used animal prints.

9. HOODS UP: There seems to be a commonality with key trends this season, with designers taking into consideration the consumer behaviour and our needs when it comes to Winter weather conditions and this trend seems to add to that list. Interlinking with the key trend of multi-layering, the hoods trend is another way to style your Winter wardrobe. Seen at Vivienne Westwood, Dior, Gucci, Alexander Wang, Versace and Calvin Klein.

10. HIGH-SHINE FABRICS: Shiny materials enlightened the runways this season from vinyl, latex, plastic and leather with metallic finishes giving us a shiny, glossy, futuristic vibe to trench coats, midi skirts and dresses. Seen at Chanel, Fendi and Simone Rocha.
